Concept after Concept: Before Normal
Concept after Concept: Before Normal is an international group exhibition revolving around past and present conceptual art.
The exhibition shows examples on the variety of conceptual art, which arose as a criticism of the images and institutions of art. As the perhaps most essential reference for contemporary art it is important to examine what conceptual art is, from where it has its origin and how it has been processed by new generations aorund the world. Thus the exhibition Concept after Concept: Before Normal presents international conceptual art from the 1960's until today.
The exhibition is curated by post.doc. Lars Bang Larsen.

A researchbased exhibition
The thesis behind the exhibition is that art history’s comprehension of conceptual art is insufficient in that it regards it as an art form driven by reason and criticism. The project claims an aesthetic experience is no less important.
Museum Director Sanne Kofod Olsen contributes to the research which will be presented in a book.
